Week of 10/16
Hi Class! This week I am so excited to start our new chapter which is solving for X in a fraction. There are a few items we need to refresh on! Q: What does a fraction consist of? A: numerator and a denominator (the above graphic shows the position of each) Q: When we are adding or subtracting fractions, what MUST be the same in a fraction? A: The denominator! The same is true when you are adding and subtracting for an unknown variable. The best way to to find the common denominator first, so you know what the equation needs in order to be solved. Now that we have reviewed fractions, lets review solving for variables. Watch the following video: Solving Equations for a Variable In your discussion post, tell us what you feel the 3 most important things you need to remember about variables and how they work in equations. Now that variables are fresh in our minds and so are fractions, lets combined the two! This lesson is learning how to mush v...
